I am now the “Natural Porn Enemy Of The State.” If you read yesterdays post about the new UK law, then you’ll be up to date. As an adult content creator and blogger, I’m no stranger to controversy—it comes with the territory. But the new UK ID law feels like a slap in the face to creators, consumers, and anyone who values privacy and freedom. This Orwellian law forces websites to implement intrusive age verification systems, and while it claims to protect children, it’s really about control, censorship, and stripping away fundamental rights.

This law doesn’t only threaten me or my platform—it’s a direct attack on creativity, privacy, and free expression. Here’s why I’m furious, and why you should be, too.

What the UK ID Law Requires

The law demands that every website hosting adult content in the UK verifies the age of its users. For most websites, this needs to be in place by March, which certain types of websites being able to push out until July. We’re not just looking at a checkbox or a simple confirmation. It involves invasive methods like:

• Facial recognition
• Uploading photo IDs
• Credit card verification

The supposed goal is to prevent minors from accessing adult content, but the execution is massively flawed, costly, and dangerous for several reasons.

Why This Law is a Disaster

1. It Violates Privacy Rights

This law is potentially a direct violation of Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which guarantees the right to privacy. Forcing people to provide sensitive personal data just to access legal content is an outrageous overreach.

Just take a look at the case of S. and Marper v. the United Kingdom, where the European Court of Human Rights ruled that retaining DNA from individuals not convicted of crimes violated their privacy. The ID law’s blanket demand for data may not be about DNA but it is no different—it’s invasive, disproportionate, and fundamentally wrong.

For all of those about to scream “You’re no longer in the EU.” It’s important to note that even though the UK is no longer bound by EU law, it is still obligated to uphold the ECHR, which remains enshrined in UK law through the Human Rights Act 1998.

So zip it.

2. It Targets the Wrong People

Instead of addressing the real issue—parents failing to monitor their kids—the government has dumped the responsibility on creators and site owners. Parents have countless tools to control what their children access online. There are apps, device settings, and parental controls built into every major platform.

Why should my blog or your favourite adult platform pay the price for a problem parents can solve themselves?

3. It’s Financially Crippling

Implementing these systems is just as expensive as it is invasive. For independent creators and small platforms, the costs are unsustainable. Many won’t survive, leaving only large corporations to dominate the space.

Worse still, these regulations will push users toward unregulated and illegal platforms, where safety, privacy, and accountability are nonexistent. How is that safer for children?

The Privacy Risks Are Massive

The law requires collecting and storing incredibly sensitive data, including:

• ID photos
• Biometric scans
• Payment information

This creates a gold mine for hackers. No matter how secure a system claims to be, breaches happen—even to major companies with the best resources. Expecting smaller platforms to protect this data is unrealistic, and the fallout could be devastating.

Imagine the harm caused by a data breach exposing who accessed adult content. The stigma, embarrassment, and potential blackmail opportunities are staggering. This law is a privacy nightmare waiting to happen.

How We Fight Back

1. Educate and Mobilize

Use every platform available—blogs, social media, forums—to spread the word.

2. Collaborate with Digital Rights Groups

Organizations like Privacy International and the Open Rights Group have the expertise to challenge these laws. Support their work, join their campaigns, and amplify their efforts.

3. Petition Your MP

Your voice matters. Contact your local Member of Parliament and let them know this law is invasive, dangerous, and ineffective. Encourage others to do the same.

4. Push for Litigation

This law potentially violates the Human Rights Act 1998 and the principles of proportionality laid out in S. and Marper v. the UK. If implemented, it must be challenged in court.

5. Advocate for Better Solutions

Instead of punishing creators and users, push for measures that empower parents to manage their children’s online access. Education and tools are far more effective than surveillance.

The Bigger Picture | A Threat to Expression and Creativity

This law doesn’t just threaten privacy—it stifles freedom of expression. When users fear exposing their identity, they’re less likely to engage with content, no matter how legal or legitimate it is.

For creators, the barriers to entry will become insurmountable. Smaller platforms will shut down, and the diversity of voices that makes the adult industry so fucking vibrant will disappear, leaving only corporate giants with no real connection to the communities they serve.

Why This Affects Everyone

If you think this doesn’t affect you, think again. Firstly, consider what site you’re reading this on… Secondly, this law sets a precedent for government overreach. It normalizes the idea that accessing legal online material requires surrendering your privacy. Today it’s adult content—tomorrow it could be any corner of the internet.

We have to fight for privacy, autonomy, and to resist a slide into dystopian surveillance.

My Commitment as a Creator

I won’t stay silent, that’s for sure. This blog has always been a place for creativity, exploration, and connection. Now, it’s also a platform to fight for our rights.

I’ve been in contact with other adult website owners and a few industry specialists, all with the same goal: finding an existing cause that’s gaining traction to join forces with. I encourage you to do the same. If you’re sitting there thinking this doesn’t affect you, let me be blunt—it does, especially if you’re in the UK. This is only the starting point, and it won’t stop here.

I’ll continue to share updates, advocate for fairer policies, and push back against these intrusive measures. But I can’t do it alone. Whether you’re a creator, a consumer, or just someone who values privacy, I’m asking for your support.
