Best Second Life BDSM & Femdom Sims (2026): Top 10 Ranked

Last Updated on: 25th April 2026, 01:23 pm

BDSM Sims in Second Life arenโ€™t exactly hard to come by. A quick search will bombard you with 1,660 results which is a staggering number. But quantity doesnโ€™t mean quality.

I write this not just as a sim owner, but as a Domme who owns subs and slaves in this world. I know the difference between a good community that respects protocol and a โ€œbot farmโ€ filled with trolls and freebie furniture.

Most of those 1,660 results are desolate wastelands or unsafe spaces run by amateurs who watched one movie and think they understand D/s. You donโ€™t have the time to filter through the trash to find the treasure.

Iโ€™ve done the vetting for you.

I evaluated hundreds of sims for BDSM in Second Life based on traffic quality (real people vs. bots), furniture standards (checking for top-tier stuff like Dictatorshop and Fapple), and community safety. If a sim didnโ€™t meet my standards, it didnโ€™t make this list.

Here is the definitive ranking of the best places to explore your kinks in 2026.

The Vetting Process | How I Rank Them

With over 1,600 search results for โ€œBDSMโ€ in Second Life, most are desolate wastelands or trash-filled dungeons run by amateurs. I donโ€™t send my readers to ghost towns.

To make this Top 10 List, a sim has to survive my strict vetting process. It isnโ€™t enough to just have a dungeon; you need a community. Here are the four non-negotiable rules every sim on this list had to pass.

The BDSM Standard
01. Traffic Volume A minimum of 3,000 traffic/day. Good traffic makes sure you arenโ€™t standing alone in a dungeon. If itโ€™s a ghost town, itโ€™s cut.
02. Furniture Quality Non-negotiable. The gear must be top-tier (Dictatorshop, Fapple, etc.). If the animations are clunky or the textures are blurry, the sim is out.
03. Thematic Focus Strict BDSM only. VRR (Virtual Rape) sims are excluded due to their chaotic nature. Note: Not all BDSM sims include sex; some are pure restraint.
04. Respect & Safety Do people read profiles? If I land in a sim and get some idiot Dom treating me like a sub it fails. Boundaries must be respected.

With these criteria established, letโ€™s explore the Top 10 BDSM Sims in Second Life.

Femdom vs. General BDSM: Which Sim is for You?

A lot of visitors confuse โ€œBDSMโ€ with โ€œFemdom,โ€ but in Second Life, they are distinct cultures.

  • Femdom Sims (like Velvet Thorn): These are matriarchies. Men are property, women are Queens. If you are a male Dom, do not go here expecting to top.
  • Maledom Sims (like Other World): The exact opposite. Patriarchy rules.
  • Switch/General Sims (like 24 Greenwich): Anything goes. These are the best starting points if you are exploring your limits.
Toy Time

Lochme | The Controversial Castle

Starting at number 10, we have Lochme. This castle-based sim is nothing short of divisive. When you mention Lochme to anyone in the BDSM community, youโ€™ll either get an enthusiastic โ€œI love Lochme,โ€ or a weary โ€œUgh, that place.โ€

I fall slightly more into the โ€œI love Lochmeโ€ category, although not enough to rank it higher. Lochme is consistently busy with activity, no matter the time of day. The people are always communicative, with only a few users AFK at any given time. The local chat is almost always active, with at least a couple of people engaging in conversation.

The community itself is diverse, regularly hosting Dommes, Doms, subs, and slaves. Everyone is welcoming, non-judgmental, and genuinely invested in understanding BDSM. Itโ€™s a great place to meet people who truly grasp the nuances of the lifestyle, even if the simโ€™s furniture is a mix of good and bad.

The Fuck | The Gritty Underdog

At number 9, we have The Fuck, the grimiest, dirtiest sim youโ€™ll find on the grid. I discovered it while placing adboards, and my initial impression was that it was a maledom sim, given the men in suits surrounded by naked women kneeling at their feet. However, over time, I noticed male subs and some of the women messaging me whenever I would stop by to pay my adboard, which started to show a more inclusive atmosphere.

The furniture varies from outdated to excellent, and while they lean toward maledom, they welcome everyone. The local chat can be hit or miss, sometimes busy, sometimes eerily silent. Despite this inconsistency, The Fuck earns its spot for its gritty authenticity.

The Domain | Corporate BDSM Done Right

At number 8 is The Domain. I discovered this sim a few months ago, and the first thing that struck me was the build. Theyโ€™ve taken a DaD skybox and transformed it into a sleek, corporate-style BDSM hangout. The furniture is top-quality and caters to both Femdom and maledom, something I found particularly impressive.

The furniture alone almost justifies moving The Domain to a higher spot on the list, as every piece comes from a creator on my top BDSM furniture list. However, the simโ€™s inconsistent traffic keeps it from ranking higher. Youโ€™re never quite sure if youโ€™re going to find the place packed or if youโ€™ll have the run of the place as the only person around.

They also have what they call โ€œhouse pets,โ€ which are subs or slaves owned by the sim owner and available for various reasons. These pets can serve drinks and food, dance with you, and are available for erotic play. If The Domain were more consistent with its active times, it could easily rank higher, but for now, it settles at number 8.

Velvet Thorn | The Lighthearted Femdom Haven

Velvet Thorn grabs the number 7 spot on my list of top BDSM Sims in Second Life. This Femdom sim isnโ€™t one I would frequent often, given its casual nature. However, this list isnโ€™t about my personal favorites, itโ€™s about the best BDSM sims as a whole.

Velvet Thorn describes itself as a โ€œlighthearted femdom community where we just donโ€™t take ourselves too seriously.โ€ The few times Iโ€™ve visited, the community has been very welcoming. While they donโ€™t seem to cater much to the sadists among us, they do have a wide range of great quality furniture, a relatively steady traffic flow (I have yet to visit an empty sim), and a solid understanding of BDSM.

If youโ€™re into the BDSM lifestyle but prefer not to live it 24/7, or if you lean more toward the softer side of D/s, Velvet Thorn is the perfect spot. Itโ€™s a beautiful sim, almost straight out of a fantasy dreamscape, and a deserving number 7.

Other World | The Ultimate Maledom Experience

Just because Iโ€™m neither submissive nor a Switch doesnโ€™t mean my guide for the best BDSM Sims in Second Life ignores the Maledom side. Other World, which takes the 6th spot, was probably the hardest sim to both review and rank. I consulted several subs who frequent Maledom sims, and their insights were invaluable.

Other World is celebrating its second year this year, and itโ€™s a fully Maledom-oriented sim. The furniture is of great quality, the sim is almost always busy, and the local chat is active. The community is large, active, and knowledgeable about BDSM and its intricacies. The only thing I didnโ€™t like was having to lurk in the shadows to observe without drawing attention. But the fact that I didnโ€™t receive a single IM while doing so suggests that this community pays attention and reads profiles, rather than making assumptions.

Darkside | Degradation and Rough Sex Done Right

Darkside easily claims the number 5 spot. This sim labels itself as โ€œDegrading BDSM and rough sex,โ€ catering to both Femdom and Maledom. While itโ€™s not always active, unlike The Domain, you can generally predict when it will be. European and U.S. afternoons seem to be the peak times.

The sim itself has a unique cartel vibe, think sandy beaches, sheds, power stations, and palm trees. The furniture is good, though I wouldnโ€™t categorize it as great. However, when you consider the sum of its parts, Darkside definitely earns its number 5 spot on the list of top BDSM Sims in Second Life.

221b Bondage Street | The Endless BDSM Maze

221b Bondage Street is enormous, and I mean ridiculously huge. The parcel itself is normal-sized, but the sim is like an endless labyrinth of floors. It has fantastic BDSM furniture, a very active community, and local chat is rarely quiet. You wonโ€™t encounter people who have no understanding of BDSM here.

When you land, youโ€™re in a small corridor, and the first room you enter is almost prison-like. The floor above that serves as a meet/hangout spot, fitted with latex cages and chairs, among other furniture. Thereโ€™s always someone around, whether theyโ€™re subs waiting in their pods or cages, or being punished by their owners in one of the multiple rooms.

Iโ€™ve visited 221b Bondage Street regularly since I first discovered it. Initially, I couldnโ€™t quite figure it out. Was it a storage facility? A prison? A BDSM hangout? Something darker or something more lighthearted? But the more time I spent there, the more I realized the answer was โ€œall of the above.โ€ Catering to both Femdom and Maledom, 221b Bondage Street rightfully earns the number 4 spot on this list.

Lock Without Asking takes the number 3 spot, despite being a non-sex BDSM sim. Weird, right? But itโ€™s a fun concept. As the name suggests, the idea is to lock people up without asking for permission. The concept is that once they enter the sim, if they have a collar or relay on, they are essentially agreeing to give consent.

Itโ€™s regularly busy, with an active community and good quality furniture, though itโ€™s definitely not the place for the more erotic side of BDSM. Expect restraint, degradation, and humiliation in a fun, non-threatening environment. Itโ€™s a unique twist on the BDSM experience and well worth a visit.

Heavy Bondage Club | The Busy BDSM Hub

Heavy Bondage Club (HBC) is one of the busiest BDSM sims on the grid, and for good reason. Minus the forced store that you land in (seriously, can we choose whether to visit the store?), the community is super active, the build is decent, and most of the furniture is top-quality, with pieces from creators like Fapple. HBC caters to nearly every kink imaginable if you look hard enough.

There isnโ€™t a time of day when you wonโ€™t land in the courtyard and see swathes of people, both Dominants and submissives. I donโ€™t visit often, but when I do, itโ€™s always an enjoyable experience.

The only downside? The local chat can be hit or miss. You might land and be greeted by a flurry of activity, or you might be met with silence. But despite this, Heavy Bondage Club rightfully takes second place on the list of top BDSM Sims in Second Life.

24 Greenwich Street | The Ultimate BDSM Destination

Finally, we arrive at number one: 24 Greenwich Street. This upscale D/s community spans around two-thirds of a sim, with the main focus being the club area, which, by my estimation, is number 24 on the street. Imagine that? It extensively caters to both Femdom and Maledom and features some of the best furniture creators in Second Life. The furniture can be found on both my best BDSM furniture list and my best sex furniture list.

The space is very well thought out, catering to almost every fetish or kink you can imagine. While it may not extensively focus on any particular fetish, youโ€™re almost guaranteed to find some piece of furniture designed for it, even if itโ€™s just one chair or a simple item.

The community at 24 Greenwich Street follows the principles of BDSM closely, maintaining a space where protocols still exist. This is something that BDSM in Second Life often lacks these days. While itโ€™s not my preferred style of BDSM, I do understand the importance of keeping that tradition alive.

24 Greenwich Street functions both as a community and a club. A place where you can immerse yourself fully in the BDSM lifestyle or simply drop by whenever the mood strikes. Regardless of your role, youโ€™ll always be greeted, welcomed, and respected. With all of this in mind, 24 Greenwich Street easily storms away with the title of the number one spot on the list of greatest BDSM Sims in Second Life.

The platform provided tools for building elaborate settings, developing role-playing scenarios, and creating virtual representations of BDSM paraphernalia, which became the foundation for the BDSM community in Second Life. I like this list and will check these places out, but I am not sure how any best-of list can include the obvious big and long-term sims like Austin Island, Roissy Val d’Oise, Xaara, and Triskellion. By “big and long-term,” I mean popular, busy, and, besides events, offering education for those new to the lifestyle.
