Second Life Photography by Jess
I discovered a passion for photography not long after I first rezzed in Second Life. To me, photography is a way to tell stories, a visual narrative that can capture moments and emotions. This blog started as my storytelling platform and much like how it, art, literature, or music allows for endless creativity and new stories, so does photography. Each photo is a new story waiting to be shared.
My skills didn’t develop overnight. It took patience, learning, and feedback. I dedicated countless hours to trying to get better, and now, I’m proud of what I can produce. My work isn’t just confined to this blog; I showcase my photos on Flickr, Deviant Art, and in-world at places like the X-Sisters Sex Bar, X-Girl Gallery, and X-Girl Monthly magazine.
A significant part of my Second Life job is marketing. It’s probably the most time-consuming aspect of my day. For effective marketing, I need compelling images. In the virtual world, capturing attention quickly is crucial, so I need visuals that instantly catch the eye. While I use words on this blog to engage, in-world, I need a quick, captivating image.
My photography skills are always evolving. I’m continually experimenting with new windlight settings, zoom angles, and lighting techniques. There’s always something new to learn, and I strive to improve with each shot.
Balancing a Busy Life
My time in-world is precious, as I juggle a busy schedule. Despite this, my love for photography remains strong. I’m open to collaborations, being hired for shoots, and modelling for others. If you’re interested in working with me, the best ways to contact me are listed on my “How to Find Jess in Second Life” page.
