Independence Day, the day when the Second Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Also when Will Smith saved the world before he slapped Chris Rock in the face. It’s a historical day but given how quiet Second Life was in the lead-up to it, I decided against doing anything to celebrate it at the bar. Most Americans seemed to have vanished from the grid, so it didn’t seem productive to host a big event or start celebrating Independence Day in Second Life. However, on a whim, Christina and I decided to decorate the bar and do something anyway.
Celebrating Independence Day in Second Life | Early Morning Home Delivery
I told Fox on the 3rd of July that I was going to take a couple of days off. For two weeks straight I had been working between both bars on a daily basis. Spending more hours there than anything else, I really needed to take some time to relax. However, as is the standard for me, things don’t always go to plan.
When I woke up I rifled through the IMs that had come through, I had a couple of requests and one from one of our barflies. He said that he needed help with some furniture and that he would pay for it.
I was intrigued, I do advertise decorating services as a side project but for a barfly to ask for them was a strange one. So, I got myself dressed and headed out there. He did want help with furniture but as soon as he looked at my cowgirl outfit he suddenly changed his mind.
Throwing me a handful of cash he took me round to his diving board and undressed me. His hand wandered everywhere, the rush was exciting. I wasn’t fully awake yet but I knew that I was about to be. He didn’t even last the full thirty minutes that he ended up booking for. I guess the cowboy boots were a hit.
Celebrating Independence Day in Second Life | A Drunk Start
After raiding the marketplace, Christina, Vilani and I decorated the bar. Bunting, flags, cupcakes and balloons really make it feel like a celebration. We might not be American but we do have some American staff and barflies.
Kane was determined to get us drunk and naked it seemed, throwing 60 beers in the tap between the three of us. Not that any of us complained, instead we grabbed our little flags and beers and started getting drunk. Christina and Vilani both took spots ontop of the bar and danced for what felt like hours.
60 X-Sisters Beers, 3 whores and all the time in the world. A few customers came by but nothing overly exciting happened.
Eventually, Christina staggered out the door as drunk as a skunk and Vilani decided to head back to her skybox. That left me with about 8 beers left, so being the very thirsty bar owner that I am, I drank them.
It was time for a nap.
Days Off Are Illusions
It was 11 am, 6 am in the US and I was already so drunk that I had to sleep. I think I was doing the day wrong.
After waking up I shook myself off and decided to take the rest of the day off. The bar was stocked and it looked very American for the festivities so the X-Girls would hold the fort fine.
With the urge to feed my spending problem, I finally headed out to SLB20. I love the Shop and Hops and usually I can spend half a day there, and this time would have been no different but I was still feeling the effects of the beer. So with an inventory full of gifts and a few new purchases, I decided to slip into the office at the bar to sort them all out.
Day off right?
Wrong. I was the only one in the building when Deci arrived.
Not that I’m complaining, I do always have fun with him. So after he told me that he liked my new clothes, he decided to tear them off. What happened next shouldn’t really be a surprise to anyone. I’ll let the snapshots paint the picture.
It was a fun day, even if I didn’t quite manage to take the entire day off. I did however go and pick up some new outfits for another photoshoot.
Then at night, I headed back out to the studio with Caleb. We got a good shoot going, I always feel bad when I get into a pose because normally my breasts are too big so he has to manipulate the hands a little bit.
I’ll put a sneak preview at the bottom of this post and you can see the rest over on Flickr as they’re released.
I will end this post the way I always do…
