When I first landed on the grid, I was excited but I also felt a little lost at the start. I’ve often wished that I had someone to really guide me a little, or point me in the right direction. The New Roommate | Late Again

Ever since my hot night at the bar with Bob I have been on an irregular schedule.

I wake up slightly later and by the time I get to the hotel, it’s usually a couple of hours after I would normally be there. I think I need someone to make sure that I wake up in time for my shift. I thought about maybe advertising for a new roommate.

When I got there this time the hotel was quiet aside from a new trainee, Chandra.

Chandra is fresh on the grid but she is so lovely to talk to. We spoke for a little at the bar before a guest arrived.

I remember my first-day nerves at the hotel. I had some good experiences as a sex worker but the hotel was such a unique environment, I had genuine nerves.

The New Roommate | Moving In

Later that night I was putting the finishing touches to the bathroom in my holiday home. Chandra popped up in my messages asking how the event went. (The event story is still to come, it was an unexpected twist and a lot of fun.)

She had taken her hard-earned Lindens and gone on a shopping trip. Then I found out that she was squatting, and I felt for her.

There is nothing worse than not having a home, having to hop around to rez things or get dressed or shower.

I realized that I still had a good amount of prims left to use on my land and a nice skybox that had sat in my storage unused. This could be a good opportunity to find a new roommate and help someone out.

I asked Chandra if she would like somewhere to live for free for a while. Even if it was just temporary for a few weeks until she got herself settled. After three weeks she can move into her own place or she can rent the skybox from me.

Seeming really happy at the idea she took up the offer and I set to work. I decorated the skybox with a few of the basics, enough to let her feel like she had a place of her own.

Of course, she gets the Bento Physics Superbed in there. I’m sure she and her customers will enjoy that a lot.

She even made me a Gin and Tonic before I sat down to write this post. I think having a new roommate is going to work out just nicely.
