Dear readers, it has been a while since we last talked. I promise to do better this year. Methinks last time we met I talked about my new nemesis … I mean our friendly HR lady, the Dark Night App and my cushion store. Today I try myself at writing a guide to LGBTQAI+ nightlife in Second life.
In this post, I’m breaking down some of the best queer clubs, bisexual beaches, and lesbian bathhouses on the grid. You are going to learn exactly where to find the best traffic, what the vibe is actually like, and whether or not these spots are worth your time when you want to party or hook up.
Quick Fire Guide: Top Queer Spots
- Club Krush (10/15): Awesome music venue, highly active, low lag aesthetic.
- Scorching Sands Bisexual Beach (10/15): A busy hookup spot leaning heavily towards male and bisexual encounters.
- Thermae Lesbae (11/15): A visually stunning, relaxed Roman bathhouse exclusively for women.
- Satyr Club (14/15): The top scorer. A packed, high quality music club with two way mirrors and balcony action.

A New Mission from Jess
I was sitting in the kitchen of my house, which got painted completely green overnight, having a coffee. How did my house turn green all of a sudden? Beats me, but if you are a witch and you also live on X-Sisters land, weird things are bound to happen. At least I didn’t find explosives in my coffee or a stick of dynamite in my sex toy collection.
While I was sitting there minding my own business, in walks Jess. Locked doors don’t exist for my roomie, and I might not lock the door most of the time anyway, so there is that.
Jess grabs herself a mug, fills it with coffee, sits down, and smiles at me.
Uh oh.
“Roomie, I have an assignment for you!”
Sipping my coffee, I tried to sort my thoughts. “What assignment? Is it funsies? I hope it is funsies because I am not in the mood for boring stuff.” I blurted it out before I was finished thinking. Curse you, mouth!
Jess sighed and gave me the look. “We are talking work, so it is irrelevant if it is fun.” Seeing my frown, she smiled briefly. “But it might be up your alley. I want an article about queer nightlife in Second Life. Since I have actual work to do, and you apparently don’t sleep and just party all night, it is yours.”
Okay, that didn’t sound so bad. I nodded at her. “Okay, I can do that. This is gonna be fun, mmmm, where to go and what clothes to wear.”
Jess shook her head, finished her coffee, and went to the door. She turned and looked at me. That look again. I swallowed. This was not good. “Oh, one last thing. You are going to write in proper English and not Chandraneese. This is a guide on my blog, and it is going to be written in regular English. No ‘thankies’ and ‘cutes’! Also, I need it done by the end of the week.”
Before I could reply, she was through the door.

The Research and Rating System
With a new mission from the boss, I sat down at my computer and figured out how to do this. First step: Research! I needed to find places to review and introduce to you.
The Second Life search function was, unsurprisingly, not very helpful. When a place called “Gang Rape Cave” has LGBTQIA+ as a keyword (among everything else remotely sexual), I suspect sim owners spam a lot of keywords just to get traffic. So, I had to rely on my own experiences, word of mouth, tips from friends, and an actual directory of queer places all over SL.
Next, I needed a rating system. I am going to hand out 1 to 5 points based on the following criteria:
The Review Criteria
With this in mind, I picked out my outfit and went off to have some fun. I mean, do my field research.

Club Krush
One of my first stops was Club Krush, a music venue made by queer people for queer people and invites guests to be themselves. Club Krush recently celebrated its 4th birthday. I found it by accident a while back, while exploring and have been around regularly.
The club looks like a former industrial hall turned into a club. Pride flags frame the entrance and there is a small vendor where guest can grab the link to a directory listing queer places all over Second Life. An upper gallery leads off to several smaller rooms.
Club Krush has its own webpage with event schedules, staff listings ect. There is 12 to 14 hours of music spanning all kinds of genres each day starting at 10am SLT.
I didn’t get to check all time schedules but every time I was around there was a good- sized crowd enjoying themselves.
Scorching Sands Bisexual Beach
This is a place to get laid, or so I was told. Time to see for myself. The sim looks a bit like one of those beaches, which sees lots of tourists. You have the sea on the one side, rental homes instead of hotels on the other and the beach in-between. Most of the beach is a square region of flat sands, much like the places it is modelled after. Beach loungers and towels line the beach in a neat row. Of course, they all have adult animations. About half of the beach furniture is from Lalou, the rest being from other designers I am not familiar with. On one side of the beach is a lighthouse and a few more private spots to hook up. On the other side of the beach is a huge rock with an orgy place on to.
Scorching Sands usually ranks high in traffic. Every time I visited there were people around. The place has a higher number of male visitors, many of which are gay or bisexual, judging from profiles.
That does not mean a girl can’t find some fun here. It simply depends on who is around. I had visits where I was mostly ignored. At other times I quickly had several persons in my IMs. Most of the chat happens in IMs.

Thermae Lesbae
As the name suggest the Thermae Lesbae is styled after a Greek/Roman bathhouse. Iti s a place exclusive for women to meet, hook up and have fun.
The place itself looks gorgeous, try going there at different times of the day to enjoy the lightning.
There is a central pool area, which is open to the sky. It is flanked by rooms to all sides. At one end there is also a small beach area. The build does not exactly follow the setup of a Greek or roman bathhouse, but the inspiration is clear.
At times I was around there always traffic. The place is never packed but I was never on my own. I had a few interesting conversations here and might have gotten lucky once if it wasn’t for the late time. It is a good place to bring a date for some fun. The Thermae has been around for a long time and is quite popular.

Satyr Club
Satyr Club describes itself as a sexy, adult community of freaks, misfits, queers, straights and all points in between. They have great DJ’s offering a wide variety of genres but leaning toward classic rock, old soul, blues, indie & alt as well as remixes and great dance music.
The club itself is situated in in old theatre or opera house complete with upper lever galleries and everything. The design itself is quite stunning, with lots of details, especially on the upper levels.
The guests are required to wear clothes fitting of the venue. Sexy is good but nakedness is a frowned upon. Since Satyr is on an adult sim guests are allowed/encouraged to get freaky on the sim, but not on the stage or dance floor. The upper-level balconies are a good place for that.
A friendly hostess gave me a tour after she was done with work. Another fine place is the powder room, which is divided by a mirror. Guests on one side of the mirror can watch the action on the other side.
When I visited the club the dance floor was always packed. A few more guests hang around in the upper balconies.
