My love for Chandra knows no bounds, since the first moment that I met her at the bar, we just clicked. We have a lot of fun together, the customers love spending time with us and it’s great. It’s rare that you meet such an explosive and engaging personality in Second Life but they are out there. She has such an entertaining personality and is definitely one of our most popular X-Girls. There is however one small problem with Chandra, a personal one. For months she has been calling me “Dead Girl” and no matter how many times I asked her to stop, she kept going. Granted she took that phrase out of public use but it still hurt. Enough was enough, this is the story of how Chandra got fired from her Second Life employment at the bar and how her Roomie saved her from Welfare.
Second Life Employment Trials | Dead Girl
Thelma Dickinson and Louise Sawyer, Christine Cagney and Mary Beth Lacey and Buffy Summers and Willow Rosenberg. There are a lot of amazing dynamic duos out there that prove just how well two people can get on.
Each pair brought their unique talents, personalities, and perspectives to the table and tackled challenges and overcame obstacles. Those relationships were based on trust, loyalty, and mutual support. That’s what I thought I had with Chandra, I really thought that our friendship would stand the test of time.
But life has a way of throwing curveballs, and sometimes even the strongest friendships can falter. Chandra and I had been inseparable since we started working together at the X-Sisters Sex Bar. We laughed together, cried together, and even faced the toughest customers side by side. We were more than just colleagues; we were sisters at heart.
Then, things began to change. It started out innocently enough, with Chandra teasing me and calling me “Dead Girl.” At first, I laughed it off, it was just harmless playing between friends right? But as the days turned into weeks, the nickname became more persistent.
Second Life Employment Trials | Enough Is Enough
Sure, Chandra saved me from a life of laying on a slab but hearing her always call me “Dead Girl” was heartbreaking. She’s possibly one of the people that I confide in most and in Second Life it’s not always easy to find those types of people.
I felt like I was being pushed into a corner, and I knew I had to make a decision for the sake of the X-Sisters Sex Bar and my own well-being. It was with a heavy heart that I decided to fire Chandra, a choice that left me with a bitter taste in my mouth and an empty feeling in my chest.
But as difficult as it was, I knew it was the right thing to do. I couldn’t let our friendship jeopardize the business and the livelihoods of our fellow employees. In the end, the X-Sisters Sex Bar was more than just a place for me and Chandra; it was a sanctuary for a lot of our staff and customers.
I sat down at the desk and began to type.
Second Life Employment Trials | The Letter
Dear Ms. Kusari,
Subject: Notice of Termination – Effective Immediately
We regret to inform you that your employment with X-Sisters Sex Bar is being terminated, effective immediately. This decision has been taken following a thorough review of your conduct and work behaviour.
The reason for this termination is your consistent use of inappropriate language and disrespectful behaviour towards our Bar Manager, Dee. It has come to our attention that you have been addressing Dee as “Dead Girl”, which is not only offensive but also against our company’s code of conduct and policy on maintaining a respectful work environment.
Despite previous warnings and reminders to adhere to our code of conduct, your behaviour has not improved. As a result, we have no choice but to terminate your employment in order to maintain a positive and respectful work environment for all team members.
Please note that you have the right to appeal this decision. If you wish to do so, you must contact Jess or Lumi within 48 hours of receiving this notice.
We appreciate the contributions you have made during your employment with X-Sisters Sex Bar and wish you the best in your future endeavours. If you have any questions regarding the termination process, please feel free to reach out to our Human Resources department.
Chandra In Denial
I was heartbroken, I just had just fired one of my best friends but I knew that it was the right thing to do. It was a painful reminder that even the most seemingly unbreakable bonds can be tested and that not all friendships are meant to last forever. I thought she would hate me and that our friendship was over.
She arrived at the bar in tears, she couldn’t understand what she had done wrong. For a moment I felt like maybe I had gone too far but it was out of my hands now. She had to appeal to the X-Sisters, it was over for her until then. The thing is, she wasn’t taking that seriously and logged into her tip jar and propped herself up on the bar.
We spoke a little, her adamant that she did nothing wrong and me trying to explain that it was above my pay grade now. Eventually, I had to call in an X-Sister, I had to call in Jess.
“Chandra, Office!” the words echoed through the bar when she arrive. Uh oh.
A New Beginning
I don’t know what was said in that office, and I don’t know if I want to know. There were sobs coming from the room and also a few slaps ringing out. There’s no denying that either X-Sister lacks an “I will kill you” personality but knowing that Chandra and Jess are close, I wonder if she went easy on her roomie.
Whatever did happen in that room, Chandra came out with her job back and not long later I got an apology notecard from her. Maybe our friendship is saved after all.
Chandra now has to go to sensitivity training within the next 30 days but I think that’s a very small sacrifice for having her job back.
The bar is never dull and it’s always interesting. Why not find out for yourself?
